The Session explored the intricate relationship between social media and online news consumption. Our panellists delved into their latest research findings, shedding light on how social media platforms can affect citizens and society. They examined the effects of social media on mainstream media, and discussed the role of regulation and user empowerment; with a particular focus of Ofcom's experience in the United Kingdom. Our panellists' fascinating discussion was followed by an interactive Q&A session.
